Show and Tell Monday- Classroom Tour

All of my hard work has finally paid off! I actually feel like my kiddies could walk in the door tomorrow and we would be ready to go! At the same time, the thought of them walking in the door tomorrow, REALLY scares me! Luckily, I have exactly one week until the first day of school. Maybe by next Monday, I won't be so scared! YEAH RIGHT!

Ok, so on to the pictures! I want to show some "before and afters" and then a few detailed pics! I'm so proud of my room. This the view of my room when you walk into the door. It's also my AFTER picture of my wall of window's.

BEFORE of my wall of windows....

Here is the BEFORE of my back wall....

and this is the AFTER!

This is my whiteboard and SmartBoard BEFORE....

...and AFTER!

computers BEFORE...

AFTER!

The view when you look straight in from the door.

My little teacher corner!

Library Corner...

"Daily 5" wall for my i-charts.

Calendar area, with my pretty stool!

Front corner, right next to the door.... yes, it's a little crammed!

Morning procedures...

My shelf with Daily 5 activities and math buckets...

Discipline chart... minus the magnets that go with it.

And that's it! My first classroom... everything came together exactly how I wanted it! I am so excited to begin this school year but also VERY nervous! Hopefully all my sweeties will love this space as much as I do!

Have a great week!

All I can say is your principal and students are going to LOVE it! Best wishes on a happy and wonderful teaching career. It really is rewarding. A bit of advice as a former teacher myself (I'm a stay at home mom now) is don't let the politics get in the way of your love of your chosen field. Seriously though I wish my classroom had ever been that cute!

So adorable. I'm sure your kiddos will love it. That makes me miss teaching! I taught 2nd grade for 7 years before my baby was born. Have a great year!

I quit teaching two years ago when we moved to stay at home with my daughter, but seeing your room has me a little sad that I am not decorating my classroom right now! That is pretty much where it stops though as I love love love being a mommy, but I always did enjoy gearing up for the year and trying to create a warm fun environment! You did it! The kids will love it!

I'm a teacher too and your classroom looks perfect! It's bright and fun without being cheesy. LOVE IT. And I never thought about using the tissue pom poms in the classroom. Great idea!

I taught 2nd for many years and I always thought it was the best grade to teach! Have fun!

I absolutely love your classroom! 2012-2013 will be my first year, and I am so excited to setup my room. Did you make your class rules yourself? They are exactly what I have been looking for!

I love your two posters - things to do every morning and class rules.
I'm curious how you made them... Did you get the graphics and font anywhere particular? And how did you get it printed so big? I'd love to make some for my class.

Hi Ladies, I made the class rules and morning procedure posters using a cricut. Feel free to copy any way that you can :) Happy SUMMER!

What a wonderful classroom! I googled "classroom organization" for images and clicked on yours! I absolutely love your bright colors, the poms from the ceiling, and the banners! You clearly put a LOT of work and love into your classroom, and it paid off. I know your kiddos enjoyed it this year. Also, you gals have such a cute blog! I live in a suburb of Dallas, so not too far aways, I guess. Hope your first year was a good one; it's such a tough job, but it is worth it. :) Thanks for the classroom inspiration!

Love your classroom! Kudos to you!

I have a question, what are the shelves under the smart board that you have the boxes on top of? Did you make them or buy them?

What did you use to hang your paper pompoms
From the ceiling?
I made some and I don't know what to use
to hang them that won't look trashy
Thanks,

Hello all! Thank you for all of your sweet comments. My room has changed a bit since the beginning of last year, and I need to post current pictures! To answer a few questions....

Hanging from the ceiling are tissue paper pom poms. Super easy to make, google "tissue paper pom tutorial" and you will find step by step instructions! Hobby Lobby has tissue paper for $1. I used fishing wire to hang them.

The class rules and morning procedures were made using my cricut. I came up with the rules myself. Please feel free to copy any and all!

The banner on my windows I also made myself. You can find the tutorial here...
http://love2sisters.blogspot.com/2011/07/show-and-tell-monday-diy-pennant-string.html

Under my smart board are shelves that were already in the room. I simply unstacked them and used them to hold our D5 book boxes.

Again, thank you for all your sweet comments and please feel free to ask any questions! :)

Hi as a huge fan of zebra print I was wondering if you covered the stool or if you bought it from somewhere and if so where? Curious about the zebra lamp as well.
